NewsCanadian Museum of Nature Concurs that Asure IDTM is "The New Standard in Card Personalization"April 30, 1999 - Synercard Corporation today announced that its new Asure IDTM card management and personalization software has been successfully implemented at the Canadian Museum of Nature. Under an agreement signed last year the Canadian Museum of Nature will use Asure ID to design its photo id badges, capture employee information and securely transmit cardholder data to the Asure ID Server where the id badges will be produced. Asure ID with the Asure ID Server is a client/server card management, card personalization and card issuance system. Unlike many other software packages available today, Asure ID allows an organization like the Canadian Museum of Nature to take full advantage of all the benefits of producing professional digital id badges without the hassles of purchasing and maintaining an internal card issuance system. After using Asure ID's simple tools to design the card template (database) and entering card holder information, Asure ID securely transmits card holder information selected by the operator to the Asure ID Server where the cards are personalized and issued. To provide the highest possible level of security, Asure ID incorporates Synercard's Asure ID Card technology (smart card and reader) which comes with the software and is used to control access and rights of use to the software, and to secure and authenticate the communication between Asure ID (client software) and the Asure ID Server. The Asure ID Server is either located internally at a company's designated card issuance center or at one of Synercard's authorized third party card service bureaus. Robert Marchand, Manager, Corporate Protection Programs for the Canadian Museum of Nature said, "We evaluated Asure ID when it was first released as a beta version. In their efforts to build the best possible products, we are extremely excited to see that Synercard has incorporated many of the suggestions received by its customers." Mr. Marchand went on to say, "we knew we needed to move our current pouch id cards to digital id cards that could be incorporated with our new access control system. The Asure ID software allowed us the freedom of getting the latest technology without having to get involved with expensive and complicated card issuance systems." Asure ID can be used to produce a variety of professional photo cards. For now Synercard is focusing its attention on Corporate America, Healthcare, Photo Credit Cards, Student Cards and Government applications such as Driver's licenses. Mr. Bianco, President of Synercard Corporation said, "we see a tremendous opportunity for this technology and are happy to see that our partners and customers are as excited as we are." The Canadian Museum of Nature is a vibrant, multi-layered, multi-faceted organization composed of research scientists, collection specialists, education and multimedia specialists, and innovators. The Canadian Museum of Nature has its origins in the Geological Survey of Canada, which was formed in 1842. Nearly 150 years later, on July 1, 1990, the Museum became a Crown Corporation by an Act of Parliament. Synercard Corporation, the Asure IDTM publisher, is an innovative security company with expertise in smart card technologies. Synercard is leading the industry toward the inevitable convergence of photo identification cards and smart cards used for secure electronic business. Currently, identification cards are used for physical verification, while smart cards are used to provide a higher level of security for business communication and transaction processing. Synercard expects that its AsureCardTM will become the de facto standard product in this convergence. Asure ID, Asure ID Server and Asure ID Card are registered trademarks of Synercard Corporation. All other trademarks and brand names are registered with their respective holders.
