Daylight Savings Time Change Advisory

Dear Valued Customer,

The next daylight savings time change will occur on October 31, 2004. Due to an issue related to the daylight savings time change, a small percentage of Asure ID users may encounter the error message 'Invalid Installation ID' when logging into Asure. HID Identity is committed to ensuring that our customers have the best possible experience with the Asure ID software, and for this reason have issued this advisory.

HID Identity recommends that all users of Asure ID update to version 4.2.0.1.325 and then apply the daylight savings update before April 3, 2004. For any customer who encounters the 'Invalid Installation ID' error immediately following the daylight savings time changeover, please contact HID Identity at (819) 777-6687 to fix the problem.

IMPORTANT: If you have previously updated your Asure ID installation with the DST patch, you do not need to reapply the patch. If you are unsure and receive the message "Failed renaming file...", this confirms that the update has been previously installed, and the DST problem will not affect your installation.


This updater will ensure that you are able to maintain normal use of Asure ID through the daylight savings time changeover. Please note however, that in order to successfully apply this update, two conditions must be met:

  • Your Asure ID installation must be updated to at least version 4.2.0.1.325. To confirm the version number of your software, please select the 'about…' option found under the 'Help' menu of either the Admin, Card Design or Data Entry modules of Asure ID.
  • You must have administrative privileges on the computer that you are applying the daylight savings update to.
