Table of Contents ----------------- - New Features - Bug Fixes - Known Issues - Contact Information ----------------- New Features ------------ This update offers many new features including: 1. iDIRECTOR Note: iDIRECTOR is available in Asure ID Exchange. Designed as a tool to streamline and control the issuance of smart cards and their related applications, iDIRECTOR resides within Asure ID Exchange and provides a platform to manage and control the various cards, readers/encoders and applications which may be deployed within an enterprise environment. The platform features the following application modules: * Logical access control (RF IDeas Air ID) which can be used to log on or off the computer. * Electronic Purse (QI Purse) which can be used for financial transactions. * Biometrics (Bioscrypt Fingerprint) which can be used for biometric verification 2. Mobile ID Note: Mobile ID is available in Asure ID Exchange. A technology platform that allows Asure ID users to perform more than a visual verification of an individual by allowing the syncing of template designs with mobile handheld PC devices. * Requires "Microsoft Active Sync 4.5" in order to sync to the mobile handheld PC device. 3. ID Card Maker Conversion Tool Note: ID Card Maker Conversion Tool is available in Asure ID Express,Enterprise and Exchange. This tool provides the ability to easily import ID Card Maker version 4.02M card templates and data into Asure ID. Note: ID Card Maker must be installed in its default location. * Fingerprint fields are imported as signature field types. * Bring in all the ID Card Maker templates (e.g., .BGD files) * Bring in all the card records * Read system INI file for configurations (.e.g., C:\IDCM\ITCR or C:\ITC) * Monitor card types within one database "Master Template". 4. Import Tool Enhancements Note: Import Tool Enhancements is available in Asure ID Express, Enterprise and Exchange. * Database fields will be automatically matched and linked with the template fields. * Simplify the CSV import routine. * Schedule tasks (automatic importing on scheduled timeframe) (e.g., at logon, daily, weekly, monthly). * Schedule feature includes scheduling tasks based on an existing configuration profile as well as a new configuration profile. * A Settings tab allows for customization of how the task is to be started and stopped (e.g., start/stop task based on computer idle time, run based on computer power management, delete one time task configurations after a run). 5. Quick Select Note: Quick Select functionality is available in Asure ID Express, Enterprise and Exchange. Quick Select allows end users to customize their search options. Features include: * Searching on a wildcard. Note: Wildcard is assumed. * Searching name fields using strings (e.g., searching for "ja" string will return names such as James, Jane, Jack, etc.). 6. Template Binding Note: Template Binding is available in the CDC in Express, and in the CDC and DEC in Enterprise and Exchange. This functionality allows the 'sharing' of card record data from a host template to a bound template thus avoiding multiple data entry and duplicated records. When in use, the data from a field on the host template will be “shared” with the bound template (i.e., the template that was bound to the host). Note: All new records created after the templates have been bound remain with the host template if you later unbind the templates. 7. Other * In the “Show All Cards” dialog, when in the ‘detail view’ report listing, the voided cards are displayed in grey. * Ability to automatically deselect ‘selected cards’ when adding a new record in Data Entry Center. * The ‘Number’ data type now supports 64-bit numbers. * MySQL v4.0.20 (ODBC Driver v3.51.9) support added to Live Link. ------------ Bug Fixes --------- * Fixed - Single or multiple search criteria sort correctly for report, dossier and card printing. * Fixed - List Box resets to default value (i.e., blank) for subsequent cards. * Fixed – Pagination corrected to allow viewing of 31st data field in DEC. * Fixed – Date fields on templates uploaded from v.5.5 to v.5.6 now display accurately on previews and prints. --------- Known Issues ------------ iDIRECTOR * iDIRECTOR - Third party drivers and the interfaces to configure these drivers may not be represented in the same languages supported by Asure ID. * Server Manager v.4.2 does not recognize advanced field types. * iDIRECTOR supports encoding of the Bioscrypt template to a card, however, the current Bioscrypt device does not support 32K iCLASS at this time. * In Logical Access (RFID), Credential 2 may be used to hold password information. Please note that when data is entered into this field in the Data Entry Center (DEC) - Credential 2 data is not masked. Mobile ID * The mobile handheld PC device will not bring across the aspect ratio of the photo file for photos that were resized in the Card Design Center. Import from ID Card Maker * Some of the font types imported from ID Card Maker may not be supported in Asure ID since this font types are dependent on the user’s system's printable fonts. * The ID Card Maker design and print views may display differently from one to another (e.g., differing font sizes, bold settings and barcode encodings). Asure ID accommodates these differences by synchronizing to the ID Card maker properties. * Some background treatments may not be supported by Asure ID (e.g., transparency, rainbow effect and ghosting effects). General * The maximum number of characters that the Linear Barcode (Code 39) can accept is limited to 100. Note: Data fields that contain over 100 characters will not work. * For Scheduled Task – Only one task is allowed to execute at any given time. Ensure that you assign task A an estimated time requirement that will accommodate its process time and assign task B a begin time that commences after task A is fully complete. * Bioscrypt device supports ANSI 377 templates. * Encoding an iCLASS chip and a Magnetic Stripe together on the same card using the Zebra P420i printer (Zebra I series Card Printer Version 2.00.00), may cause a system error. * When adding the Bioscrypt application to an iCLASS chip, always ensure that fingerprints have been captured before the record is saved, printed and encoded. * Province/State and Country names display in English only when accessed via the drop down lists for Admin Center enrollment. * Changing the Screen Resolution (i.e., Dots per Inch DPI) to anything other than 96 may cause a problem with the Asure ID system. If such a change is required, it is advisable to close Asure ID, make the DPI change, and then re- open the program. * Repeated edits processed to templates that already have Live Link Files may sometimes result in the inability to add Live Link to the template. If repeated edits are necessary, it is advisable to create a new template and add the Live Link to the new template. * Printers should be turned on before sending a print/encode job. This will avoid the situation of the printer jamming due to delayed instructions. * For the XID580 Printer - The "Print all Cards" functionality, where encoding of cards is also taking place (either chip or magnetic stripe or both), may cause problems depending on the number of cards being batch printed. * Asure ID 5.7 supports Windows Vista, however 3rd party drivers must also support Vista to ensure that the entire card production cycle can be completed. * OEM150 encoder can configure iCLASS cards. If you are using printers that do not have the OEM150 encoder, iCLASS cards must be purchased already configured. * When configuring iCLASS cards, the fuse bit will not be burned when configuring pages other than Page 0. ------------ Contact Information ------------------- HID Identity is accessible to its customers in a variety of ways - * Our website always contains the latest news and information concerning our products, and also hosts a support section where customers can access online support and submit questions and feedback.
