There is no need to install (or to uninstall) previous patches before loading this one, and the update is intended to be used on any Asure ID Connect v4.x installation. It does not matter what 4.x version you are upgrading from; after installing this patch your software will have all of the latest code, and will be considered version 4.2. The 4.2 update contains many bugfixes and enhancements to the Asure ID program, intended to improve performance, reliability and compatibility, as well as to introduce new functionality. A highlight of these changes follows: - Support for the Asure ID Imago digital identification camera - Improved reliability when sending card template data and cards to Asure ID Server, including a new SOCKS Internet transport mechanism for maximum compatibility. - Multiple (different) users can no longer login to Asure ID simultaneously on the same computer. - Magnetic Stripe configutation now supports any character for padding the string to it's maximum characters. - Transactions with Asure ID Server using a P.O. Number will now have the P.O. Number reflected properly. - Import wizard now supports using a Key Field to update existing records. - Card templates support using a Key Field to prevent duplicate entries. - Integrated support for Asure ID Imago digital identification camera. - New, improved interface for capturing, adjusting and cropping photos. - QuickFind settings can now be saved. - 'Save All Settings' option. - Added a 'Cancel' button to the Import Wizard. - Fixed Report Writer bugs. - Fixed Asure ID Server 'lost' registation bug. - Fixed Query/Select bugs. - Added ability to type new value into List fields. - Fixed 'Global Counter Preceds with Zero(s)' bugs. - Fixed 'Card records disappear on update template' bugs. ============================================================================================================================== Known Issues ------------ - When installing the 4.2 update, it is very important that you reboot your computer before installing the update. - Asure ID Imago camera owners will need to disconnect their camera, and reboot before installing the update. Do not reconnect your Asure ID Imago camera untill you have completed installing the update, and performed the final reboot as instructed by the updater. - When you create a list field in Card Design Center, the inclusion of the ` character in any list entry will cause unpredictable behaviour. - When creating a new user in Admin Center, it is possible to enter characters other then letters and numbers in the user's name. If the name includes characters other than letters and numbers, this may cause unpredictable behaviour. - The Asure ID Imago camera supports hi-speed and hi-resolution image transfer when used in conjunction with a USB2 interface. However, laptops using a PCMCIA-to-USB2 adapter may experience a fatal crash when attempting to connect to the camera, depending on the model of the adapter. This will be fixed in the next update to Asure ID. In the meantime, if you are affected by this issue, please use a USB1 interface for your camera. - If the 'Clear Values' button on the 'Set Sorting Order' function (found on the 'Datbase' menu in Data Entry Center) is selected, Data Entry Center will erroneously show '0 of 0' cards. To re-display the entire database in it's default sorting order, simply choose 'Refresh Database' from the 'Database' menu in Data Entry Center, or change templates and then change back, or restart Data Entry Center. ============================================================================================================================== Contact Information ------------------- Synercard is accessible to its customers in a variety of ways - Our website always contains the latest news and information concerning our products, and also hosts the User's Corner where customers can access online support and feedback.
